Since infanticide is an appalling sin before God, the sin which is condemned by canonical and patristic Church tradition, namely the sin which threatens to bring, within a certain period of time, to biological extinction of the Serbian people, the Holy Synod of Bishops asked, in the eve of Great Lent - the period when all the people are called to repent - diocese hierarchs to request from their local clergymen not to let physicians and midwives, for whom it is known for sure that they carry out this inhuman act, receive the Holy Communion sacrament until they have repented, as well as to deprive them of the right to cut the slava(1) cake.
